The AVP/VP – International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) will be responsible for leading the strategy and operation for the company’s international health insurance portfolio. This role requires a deep understanding of IPMI risk assessment, global healthcare markets, and regulatory frameworks, ensuring the company remains competitive while maintaining profitability and compliance. The position also demands strong leadership in partnering with reinsurers, optimizing operational processes, and driving distribution growth across multiple markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute underwriting strategies to maintain portfolio profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Ensure compliance with regional and global insurance regulations, implementing best practices in risk assessment.
  • Manage reinsurance treaties and relationships with global reinsurers to ensure optimal risk transfer solutions.
  • Oversee policy administration, claims management, and service delivery to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to enhance customer experience through digital transformation.
  • Ensure operational excellence in policy issuance, premium collection, and customer servicing across markets.
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies, including partnerships with brokers, and corporate clients.
  • Identify new markets and growth opportunities in international health insurance.
  • Strengthen relationships with key brokers to increase market penetration and sales performance.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI), with focus on distribution within the health insurance industry.
  • Strong expertise in technical underwriting, claims analytics, and risk management for international medical insurance.
  • Experience managing reinsurance treaties and negotiations with global reinsurers.
  • Proven leadership in operations optimization, including digital transformation initiatives in underwriting and claims.
  • Solid understanding of global health insurance markets, regulations, and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience in building relationships with brokers.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • MBA, preferred but not mandatory
